Shadow Imitation Technique

The Shadow Imitation Technique's original purpose is to delay pursuers in order for a team to flee. With the use of a hand seal, the user can stretch a shadow up to twice the length of all of the shadows the projected "shadow" touches combined. If a target is captured within the user's shadow, the result is that the two combatants will mirror each others' movements
Eight Directions Shadow Imitation Technique
Ninjitsu
After binding his enemy in his shadow, Shikamaru splits his shadow into eight angles and directions, binding other enemies.
Shadow Network Technique
Ninjitsu
Shikamaru uses his shadow to crack the ground around him, possesing near by enemies and spins causing the shadow to form a small whirlwind, attacking possesed and approaching enemies.
Shadow Shuriken Technique
Ninjitsu
The user of this technique throws multiple large shuriken in such a way that the first shuriken hides the subsequent ones by blocking the line of sight. To the target, it appears as if only one shuriken was thrown.
Shadow Sewing Technique
Ninjitsu
The Shadow Sewing technique is a technique unique to the Nara Clan. The user first extends his shadow by using the Rat hand seal, then creates shadow tendrils by using the Bird hand seal. The tendrils can serve various purposes such as attacking or binding an opponent and/or attacking multiple targets.
Shadow Neck Bind Technique
Ninjitsu
After capturing an opponent with the Shadow Imitation Technique, the user can then further extend their shadow up to the target's throat in the shape of a hand, which chokes them to death. Also if the user is at a last resort, and the shadow possession isn't making them copy their moves, he will bind the opponents body in order to stop all their movements and cause great amount of damage. In addition, the closer the user is to their opponent, the tighter the strangle will become. However, with an incredible amount of strength, the target can force the shadow hand off.
Shadow Summoning Technique
Ninjitsu
After capturing a target with the Shadow Imitation Technique, the user summons shadowy tendrils from their opponent's body, controlling them in the same manner as Shadow Sewing, but from the opponent's body instead of the user's.
Shadow Membrane Technique
Ninjitsu
Shikamaru releases several smoke bombs the engulfs the enemy in smoke that Shikamaru wraps his shadow around before constricting it to a small egg-like size that he forces to implode.
Shadow Imitation Shuriken Technique
Ninjitsu
Using the trench knives ability to absorb the users chakra, in his case his chakra. With this Shikamaru can target his opponent's shadow and remotely trap them in the Shadow Imitation Technique. This is extremely advantageous as Shikamaru is no longer retricted to a stationary position while holding down his opponent.
Shadow Demon Stripe Technique
Ninjitsu
Shikamaru throws flash bombs behind him, to not only blind his foes but also to extend the range of his shadow indefinetely. Once those preperations are complete, Shikmamaru can put any parts of his body in front of the light and it will appear as a enormous shadow. Once his shadow is ready, he can constrict his enemys easily just by closing his hand
Genjutsu Cancel
Ninjitsu
With the Genjutsu Cancel technique, the user is able to block the chakra flow in their body, which cancels the effects of genjutsu, even before falling to its trap. The user can also release a victim of the genjutsu by preforming needed hand seals and tapping the victim.
